It’s amazing to see the number of people “in business” who don’t even consider their HEALTH and WELLBEING as part of their business “systems”.
What do I mean?
The number of business videos I watch or the meetings/courses I attend tend to steer towards talking about the structural entity of business, the business plan, etc., but what happens when you’re not able to carry out your business plans, strategies, etc., because you’re sick?
Because you’re in pain?
Because you feel rundown?
Where does your health and wellbeing come in the scheme of things?
Oh, well, that can be sorted because when you’re unwell you have “assistants” or “partners” to take on the load you’re not able to because you’re too sick or in pain or rundown…
And what if you don’t have “staff” to off load onto?
This is not a “fail safe” strategy when it comes to running a business.
It’s not until your health fails you, you’re not able to move or do the work planned for your business, do you realise how much your health actually plays a major role in your BUSINESS.
And it’s more than just doing SELF CARE – the new BUZZ WORD in the personal development/coaching industry at the moment…
It takes more than just doing SELF CARE – which is what exactly?
Because you go and have a massage?
You go to the gym or started exercising?
You take a day off? – wow!
You take time out to rest and pause?
Or because you get to bed early?
So, we tick the box on SELF CARE and we think we’re okay…?
Your health and wellbeing gets affected from the inside out.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been working with someone who left the corporate world and is now running their own business. They confessed realising how much stress they had accumulated in their body, how tired and rundown they had looked, and how it’s all coming out in their body now in different ways because their body is DE-STRESSING.
They didn’t make their health and wellbeing a priority. They were just “getting by”.
It was all about meeting targets. Building structures. Planning strategies. Meeting the “right people”.
Rushing here, rushing there…
Making your health and wellbeing a priority is more than just YOU doing something, eating better or taking time out.
It’s time to start making it part of your business and planning strategies, and not leave it as something you get to “fit in” when you have time or when you’ve reached your “tipping point”, before you’ll do something about how unwell you’re feeling.
Well….that’s my view and I know what I see.
So, take it or leave it…
Your health and wellbeing is more important than you think.
What one thing can you start doing this week that will make a positive difference to your health?
