Half way through the first month of the new year and already it’s been brought to my attention the number of people (mainly women), who are feeling pressured, and burning out.
One lady informed me of how frazzled she’s felt as she continues to work a demanding job and take care of her family.
I was told of a lady I knew of who could no longer cope and committed suicide.
Another woman who is due to see me because she’s experiencing pains in her body.
For some people the new year can bring its own set of pressures and if we’re not mindful can lead to burnout.
The pressure to set goals and achieve them.
The pressure to start something “new”.
The pressure to feel happy.
The pressure to move location.
The pressure to deal with finances and bills.
The pressure to adapt to new changes…
And on and on….
Can you relate to some of these?
If this sounds familiar I invite you to pause, breathe and refrain from doing anything that may feel too much for you at this time.
It’s easy to be swept away with the drive and enthusiasm of wanting to start new things or achieve new goals at the beginning of the year…..but it’s just that….we’re at the beginning of the year….we’ve still got another 11 months to go!
Who said you have to accomplish everything now?
Who said you have to set new goals now?
Take the pressure off you and chill!
I personally have chosen not to get caught up in the frenzy of setting big goals for January or the new year.
I’ve been taking time out and chosen into “being” rather than “doing”.
Tuning in. Asking myself questions. Feeling what’s right for me. What’s in alignment for me, my body and purpose.
We’re still in the season of winter, where in nature’s terms is a period of slowing down, hibernating, taking things easy, drawing back, resting, restoring, re-nourishing.
There’s no rush.
Pause. Breathe. Reflect and Be.
